Kerry Washington has finally been confirmed for the role of Broomhilda in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Broomhilda (Washington) and her husband Django (Foxx) are kidnapped then sold as slaves to Clavin Candie’s (DiCaprio) Candyland. Django manages to escape and enlists the help of a German bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz (Waltz) to free his wife. It’s expected to be more of a straight up spaghetti western with action pieces on a scale similar to Inglourious Basterds.
The rest of the cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Don Johnson, Laura Cayouette, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael K. Williams, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Tom Savini and M.C. Gainey. The release date is aimed for December 25th 2012.
