Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been confirmed for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained along with his role in the film. Deadline reveals that he’ll play the brother of Anthony LaPaglia (The Client, Summer of Sam, Empire Records) in film. LaPaglia will play the leader of a group slave-trading Australians who kidnap Django (Jamie Foxx) and his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). Selling the pair to Calvin Candie’s (DiCaprio) Candyland. It will be interesting to see Gordon-Levitt adopt an Australian accent along with playing a villain.
Kerry Washington has finally been confirmed for the role of Broomhilda in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Broomhilda (Washington) and her husband Django (Foxx) are kidnapped then sold as slaves to Clavin Candie’s (DiCaprio) Candyland. Django manages to escape and enlists the help of a German bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz (Waltz) to free his wife. It’s expected to be more of a straight up spaghetti western with action pieces on a scale similar to Inglourious Basterds.
The rest of the cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Don Johnson, Laura Cayouette, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael K. Williams, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Tom Savini and M.C. Gainey. The release date is aimed for December 25th 2012.
